Firstly, welcome back – my blog is finally up and running again, after a few issues, a large lack of technical knowledge and a very helpful web host assistant. It’s been a long time coming and blimey have I missed this little space on the web!
If you kept up to date with my last blog posts, then you’ll know that I was moving to Melbourne to study a semester abroad. Well, the ‘was’ is now an ‘am’, here I am almost a month in, living life ‘down under’.
I’ll be here from now until (provisionally) mid-July, so I’ve got a few months yet. We’re just finding our feet here and settling in, I started Uni last week… I already seem to prefer both the lectures and tutorials here which is a good start, hey.
We’ve already done a little bit of travelling along the East Coast (Airlie/Whitsundays/Brisbane), and I plan to delve into our most recent travels in future blog posts, so keep your eyes peeled!
I, of course, have been taking a mass of photo’s and quite a few videos too, so keep a look out – on here and my Instagram (Bethany_Birch) – for snippets of my adventures and experience living out here.
This is just a little welcome back/intro post, so I’m going to keep it short and sweet. I have a LOT to say from the reality of living abroad, encounters with Hunstman spiders, the bittersweetness of the 24-hour flight (mainly bitter), weeing – a lot – in a lagoon at Whitehaven Beach whilst suffering from a bad case of dehydration, snorkelling at the Whitsundays, meeting Wild parrots by our pool; to the sheer joy of the infamous Tim-tam biscuits … But I’m going to refrain from gushing on for the moment! For now, you’ll just have to wait 😉
